Church of St. Donat, Rogatec
The newest church in Rogaška is situated on the lower forest line of Donačka Mountain, at 511 m above sea level, in a wonderful natural environment. The simple building consists of a nave with slightly rounded corners and a wooden façade tower covered with an onion shaped roof as well as a presbytery and vestry on the northern side.
The church was built between 1756 and 1780. It is interesting because of its high-quality contents – three altars and oil paintings of St. Donat and St. Isidore, produced by a baroque painter Anton Lerchinger from Rogaška.
