Rogaška Glassworks

Rogaška Slatina is known for its outstanding quality of ground and engraved products from crystal glass made by hand by glass craftsmen also beyond the borders of Slovenia.
Rogaška Glassworks draws its extensive knowledge of production and design of crystal products from the nearly 350-year old tradition of Trebuše, Pohorje and Kozjansko, where the so-called glažuta (glassworks) reigned supreme. After the booming period of the 18th- and 19th-century glaziery, and later an almost complete demise of the melting furnace, Viljem Abel, owner of the United Glass Factories, built a glass factory in 1926 at St. Križ, today Rogaška Glassworks, which is today one of the largest European producers. Rogaška Glassworks products can be purchased in the industrial shop. Visitors can go on a guided group tour of the factory and experience for themselves the glass manufacturing process involving unique products under the hands of glass craftsmen who create a variety of forms by blowing into hot glass.
