Pavillon of Cacti

The Pavilion of Cacti in Cerovec under Boč is an impressive collection of over 7,000 different cacti and other succulent plants from around the world.
The collection features many rare species which lends the collection even greater importance. It is interesting to note that the oldest cactus Ariocarpus is more than 60 years old, that the smallest one is Blossfeldia whose body does not exceed 1 cm in height and width, that the cactus Dirty Old Man has a special form that radiates triumph and  that Mother-in-Law’s Armchair requires 40 years before it blooms for the first time. There are plenty of interesting features from the smallest to the largest cacti and from the prickliest to the most admired cacti – the collection is definitely worth a look.
Access: from the direction of Celje on the bypass to Rogatec take a left turn at the road sign for the Gardening Centre, continue straight ahead and to you left you will see the Pavilion of Cacti.
