Park Šenek

In late 19th century, a park gradually developed around the Šenek Mansion. Soon after 1870, the owners planted their first trees in the surrounding meadows.
Towards the end of the century, the former vegetable gardens by the mansion and chapel were turned into ornamental gardens according to the design of the Vienna garden architect Swensson. The larger, southern garden features a decorative pool and pavilion in the centre.
The nearby natural and manmade slopes were planted with a diverse palette of trees by the walking trails, individually or in groups. The old park area ended in the north with a sightseeing point. From there, the terrain passes into an undulating grassy plains framed with forests. Between the two wars, an extensive tree park was planted in this area but it now no longer exists.
