Mushroom Study Trail, Celjska Koča

The mushroom study trail at Celjska Koča is a unique of its kind in Slovenia, since it is not related to any other study trail although it runs in the opposite direction of the forest study trail. It provides a detailed presentation of 18 types of mushroom supported with pictures.

It took three years and three seasons (spring, summer and autumn) to monitor the growth of the mushrooms presented along the study trail. Along the way you can see mychorizzal funghi, which grow in harmony with trees and plants, saprophytes, which live and feed on organic waste, as well as parasite fungi, which sponge on live plants.
