Josip Pelikan Photography Studio

The studio from the end of the 19th century represents a unique example in the Central European region of a preserved glass photography studio with glazed metallic roof construction and preserved photography equipment. The photographer Josip Pelikan started working here in 1920.

Today, it contains a permanent museum exhibit of the Celje Museum of Contemporary History that represents the rich and creative life and work of the photographer Josip Pelikan, who worked in the studio from 1920. On the ground floor, visitors can see the darkroom, photo retouching room, the photographer's technical equipment, portraits, glass plates and original photos. On the first floor, there is a wonderful glass gallery with all the needed equipment.
